The London 2012 Olympics are still a matter of national pride and, four years on, the Embassy of Brazil in London has organised an event offering Londoners the opportunity to get back into the Olympic spirit by celebrating Rio’s 2016 Games.

In true Brazilian style, Trafalgar Square will take on the buzzing atmosphere of a street carnival with a range of Brazilian music and DJs providing the event’s playlist and street vendors ensuring that energy levels never drop by selling traditional Brazilian food including churrasco barbecue, Amazonian superfood açaí and pão de queijo (cheesebread).

Sport will, of course, play its part, with highlights from the 2016 Olympics being replayed on a big screen. This year marked the first South American Olympics ever and brought together athletes from over 200 nations, providing yet more reasons to celebrate their success.

Entry is free and the day promises an explosion of colours and sounds to celebrate all things Brazilian.
