We're in design heaven: pick up some skandi-cool from this Skandium range, Spring/Summer 2016

We love Skandium, the British company run by three talented Scandinavians, with outlets in Selfridges and Republic of Fritz Hensen, and carefully curated stores in Brompton and Marylebone. The brand have been filling smart living rooms with sharp skandi-cool for nearly two decades.

The Skandium 2016 Spring/Summer collection is as covetable as ever. We love Marimekko's collaboration with various female artists, resulting in a gorgeous collection of dense, abstract florals. Based in Helsinki, this wonderful brand have been beautiful statement clothes and furnishings since the '50s, and contributed majorly to twentieth century fashion. Jacqueline Kennedy wore no fewer than eight Marimekko dresses during JFK's 1960 presidential campaign. Sex and the Bradshaw's protagonist Carrie Bradshaw was another fashionable fan, donning their prints season after season.

If you're looking for something a little quieter, go for an emblematic Lyngby vase. The ruched 1936 design - then the height of modernity - changed the way people thought about porcelain. The vase has aged well, and the 2011 reissue has made its way into chic homes around the world.

Our favourite pieces in the whole collection, though, have to be the crockery with designs by the much-loved Swedish artist Stig Lindberg. The late Lindberg created whimsical, magical designs, and Skandium have chosen drawings from the children's book Daniel Doppsko, who finds an underwater city. We loved these charming, quirky pieces so much, we bought them at the press preview.
