In this playful new show, at The Place for nine shows only, five professional male dancers are joined on stage by nine girls who dance purely for enjoyment. The company Fevered Sleep, which creates experimental art and performances, brings together adults and children as equals in this new production.

It's a simple concept that celebrates the ways in which dancing can bridge age gaps and go beyond formal training. The combination of adult and child introduces playful spontaneity to the performance, while also exploring ideas of care and tenderness.

“Our city needs to have the conversation that this work provokes. Fear is left at the theatre’s doors. People are left to share a stage together. It’s the most beautifully political, gently radical dance we’ve ever put on our stage.” Eddie Nixon Director of The Place theatre.

Created for a grown-up audience, Men & Girls Dance continues Fevered Sleep’s mission 'to encourage audiences to think differently about the world and to start conversations'.

Co-commissioned by The Place, Men & Girls Dance arrives for a limited London run after a successful national tour.
