Family Day, The Place

Lots of dance, fun and games for children and their grown-ups, as Family Day returns to The Place this summer

The Place, Family Day, TidyUp
If you’re looking for something different, fun and educational involving the whole family, even its teeny-weeny members, look no further than The Place, where Family Day returns on 21 July.

Shows, workshops, original plays and the opportunity to interact with and influence some of The Place’s regular artists make up a jam-packed day both children and parents (and who knows? maybe grandparents too) will remember for a long time (or until they return for next year’s iteration).

So, for example, for the very little ones, aged 1 – 4 there’s Romp and Roll where proper music (we’re promised no kiddie tunes) will be provided, so that big ones and little ones can dance together and in the process learn about rhythm, coordination and motor skills. Romp and Roll is divided into a number of sessions depending on the children’s ages.

For older children (3 – 10) there’s a very special session offering the opportunity to play a role in the creation of a new dance-theatre show based on Saint-Exupéry’s classic The Little Prince, by Luca Silvestrini’s Protein company. Protein invite children to come in costume maybe as their favourite animal, the better to play a role in reimagining this marvellous story.

Those are just some of the many and varied events that make up Family Day at The Place. All details here.

Note: The Place is buggy accessible, has baby-changing facilities and stocks child-friendly food and drinks.
