May Contain Food, May Contain You is a collaboration between Luca Silvestrini, creator of idiosyncratic dance theatre pieces, and Orlando Gough, one of the UK’s leading composers, as well as a published home cook.

Intrigued? You should be! May Contain Food, May Contain You is a highly original work, where audiences will be asked to bring their own home made food for table picnics, as well as assisting the performers in baking a sticky ginger pudding. They will also be asked to share their thoughts and memories associated with food.

Throughout, Protein’s Sonya Cullingford and Matthew Winston will dance, accompanied by especially composed a cappella songs.

The tone of this cabaret-style performance is relaxed and playful, but its purpose is serious: to invite audiences to think about the sensory, cultural and social implications of food.

May Contain Food, May Contain You is smaller scale reworking of the original piece, which had a very successful tour of the UK in 2016. In its four-star review The Guardian wrote: ‘Foodie culture is carved up gloriously in this lip-smacking fusion.’

May Contain Food, May Contain You is touring the UK through February and March with one performance in each of five London venues.
