The Troth, an award-winning work of dance theatre, focuses on the important contribution of soldiers from India (then still part of the British Empire) to World War I, and had its premiere in 2018 as part of war's centenary commemorations. It has since toured to great acclaim nationally and internationally,

A moving story of love, honour and sacrifice, told through an immensely inventive combination of lively choreography, WWI film archive, and vibrant sets and costumes, The Troth was produced by Akademi, the London-based South Asian dance organisation, and stars the compelling dancer Vidya Patel, BBC Young Dancer 2015 finalist.

At the time of its London premiere, Culture Whisper awarded it a five-star review, which you can read here.

The film of The Troth will be made available online on 7 August. You can stream it via Akademi's Youtube Channel and Facebook page
