Curzon Film & Fizz at Boutique Hotel: London One Aldwych Cinema

New film club in collaboration with Curzon Connect brings the best recent releases to a boutique hotel screening room

Curzon Film & Fizz at Boutique Hotel: London One Aldwych Cinema
Curzon have collaborated with One Aldwych Hotel to bring a series of film screenings to the confines of their intimate and luxurious thirty-seat screening room, along with a glass of Lallier Grande Réserve Champagne champagne and the option of a three course dinner beforehand, in the hotel's Indigo restaurant.

Curzon will be curating a series of films running on Friday and Saturday every weekend until the end of March: the perfect opportunity to catch those hits you might have missed in London's mainstream cinemas.

22-3 January offers the latest in the bond franchise, Spectre, coming to the silver screen, which sees 007 propelled into the pitfalls of the digital age by director Sam Mendez. Next on the list is wistful Irish-American saga Brooklyn, with astonishing performance from Saiorse Ronan as a girl torn between love and homeland.

Come February, you're in safe hands with Spielberg's wartime epic Bridge of Spies on the 5-6: a moving true Cold War story about an insurance lawyer (Tom Hanks) who is recruited by the CIA to negotiate the release of a POW: it's everything that it says on the tin. Next up, on 12-13 February is romantic saga Carol, a lush period piece starring Rooney Mara and Kate Blanchett as star-cross'd lovers in 1950s New York.

A special Valentines day screening sees Doctor Zhivago return to the big screen, digitally remastered and as epic as ever, a tale of love, loss and longing. This vast and moving saga goes down as a true piece of cinematic history: they just don't make them like this any more. 19-20 February sees, for those (undoubtedly few) who haven't yet caught the latest in the Star Wars franchise, The Force Awakens.

Come March, there's David O'Russell's latest, Joy; Frank director Lenny Abrahamson's new film Room, based on the novel by Emma Donoghue. March also sees an all-female powerhouse troupe in Suffragette, and Oscar-tipped film from Birdman director, The Revenant: a film that's already being pegged as the role of Leonardo Di Caprio's career.

To finish off this brilliantly chosen line-up comes the follow up to The Great Beauty, Sorrentino's new film Youth, starring Michael Caine and Harvey Keitel as aging companions looking back on their younger days with nostalgia and desire.

There's nothing we wouldn't recommend in this well chosen line-up: head over to One Aldwych, catch up on what you missed at the cinema this year, reclining in style with a glass of bubbly. What could be better?
