New comedy drama from the producers of Argo, Our Brand is Crisis is a fictionalised account of American political campaign strategists in the 2002 Bolivian presidential election.

Directed by comedic talent David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express), the film tells of a battle-hardened American campaign strategist, played by Sandra Bullock, who is sent to help re-elect a controversial president in Bolivia. Once there she must compete with a long-term rival (Billy Bob Thornton), who is working for another candidate in the running.
With a comic script from Peter Straughan (The Men Who Stare at Goats, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) the film has a promising talents at the helm, and looks to be a return to form for Bullock. Early reviews have been fairly mixed, suggesting that as a work of political satire it has insufficient bite, but many have also hailed Bullock for her comic timing and lauded the film for the nuanced female role at its centre.
