Outdoor Cinema London 2015: British Film Institute's Summer Love Weekend

New outdoor cinema London 2015: British Film Institute's 'Love' season kicks off with Summer Love Weekend at the British Museum open air cinema screenings.

Still from Room with a View, Helena Bonham Carter & Julian Sands
More open air cinema awaits with the opening weekend of the BFI's Love season this August.
British Museum outdoor cinema screen
The British Museum will be hosting its annual sunset screenings of three films this 27-29 August. In celebration of the new BFI season on films all about Love the huge scale al fresco pop up screen will be returning to the British Museum with three of the most romantic films in cinematic history.
Thursday 27 August sees A Room with a View coming to the British Museum's silver screen. The film adaptation of E.M. Forster’s Florentine fling of a novel wins big in our book: with a young, pre-Raphaelite Helena Bonham-Carter as naïve tourist Lucy Honeychurch who falls for a more experienced rogue in Julian Sands, the film has a charm that has withstood time's test. With a full cast including Maggie Smith, Judy Dench and Daniel Day-Lewis, and under the watchful eye of director James Ivory, the 1985 period classic is not one too miss.
Friday sees Terence Malick's 1972 film Badlands, starring Michael Sheen and Sissy Spaceck as two lovers on the run from their criminal behaviour, whilst Saturday sees the parodic fairytale The Princess Bride come to the British Museum with its all-star cast. Three timeless classics that deal with the subject of love in their own unique way, the films will be screening daily at 8.15 from Thursday to Saturday. Tickets in the past have sold out in record time so we'd recommend booking soon.
BFI Love Season
The BFI Love season will take place from October – December, and is a must for all hopeless romantics.
