Muriel's Wedding, BFI Screening

Here comes the bride: Muriel's Wedding returns to the big screen at the BFI

Muriel's Wedding, BFI Screening
Social outcasts Muriel (Toni Collette) and Rhonda (Rachel Griffiths) are looking for love in all the wrong places, primarily by virtue of living in the small town of Porpoise Spit, Australia.

Fed up with their provincial life, the pair decide to run away to Sydney. Unbeknownst to Muriel's corrupt politician father, he is bankrolling the endeavour after Muriel helps herself to some of his cash.

Will all of their dreams come true in Sydney? Namely, will Muriel get married while ABBA songs play on repeat?

The screening of the Australian cult classic is part of BFI's Girlfriends season, a festival celebrating female friendships in film. Grab your dearest gal pals and get ready for a girls night that takes #ThrowbackThursday to the next level.
