Johnny Depp and Daisy Ridley star in Orient Express film
Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Judi Dench and Daisy Ridley to star in Kenneth Branagh's Murder on the Orient Express
Despite the abuse allegations recently levelled against him by his ex-wife, Johnny Depp has been cast to star in director Kenneth Branagh's 20th Century Fox's adaptation of Agatha Christies' whodunit Murder on the Orient Express.
Alongside directing, Kenneth Branagh is following in the footsteps of actors David Suchet and Peter Ustinov and will star as Belgian detective Hercule Poirot. He will be joined by Judi Dench and Daisy Ridley.
Depp is to play Ratchett, the American businessman whose murder aboard the Orient Express train is at the heart of Christie's 1934 classic novel.
In the roles of the other passengers and suspects, Dench will play Princess Natalia Dragomiroff; Lucy Boynton, Countess Andrenyi; Pfeiffer, Mrs Hubbard; Ridley, Mary Debenham; Derek Jacobi, Masterman, and Leslie Odom Jr, Doctor Arbuthnot.
