Wild Life Drawing: Easter Bunnies

Learn to draw like the experts: wildlife drawing at Somerset House this Easter holidays

Wild Life Drawing: Easter Bunnies
Rumour has it that Beatrix Potter had such incredible powers of observation she could accurately depict the creatures in her garden after only a single look. Not everyone can draw like that, but this Easter holidays, families are invited to come and learn the basics and get up-close to fluffy bunny rabbits (Lion Head rabbits, a Plush Lop-Eared and a Rex rabbit) and guinea pigs, at Somerset House.

On Good Friday - 25 March - Wild Life Drawing are hosting a special Easter drawing event for families. During the session, the class will be introduced to the variety of species with a short talk from the animal handlers and everyone will able to study them closely.

Both adults and children will be led through a series of fun drawing exercises to start, focussing on form, fur and funny ears. Throughout the class, everyone will be encouraged to use a variety of media and drawing tutor Jennie Webber will be on hand for any artistic guidance. As well as drawing the bunnies, families will learn about their unique characteristics, their lives in the wild and the current conservation issues facing their species.

Animal experts are full of facts and will be ready and willing to answer any questions you might have. All drawing materials are supplied, including paper, but please feel free to bring colours or any dry media you might like to use.
