British artist Eduardo Paolozzi is often called the 'godfather of Pop Art'. In fact he was much more than that - Paolozzi was one of the most iconoclastic and visionary artists of the 20th century. His experimental impulse never left him, from his Surrealist sculptures of the '40s to his Swinging Sixties geometrical prints and late relief works. Come and discover the work of a British master at the Whitechapel next year.

Paolozzi's work is wildly diverse: over a five decade career he mastered pottery, screen-prints, tapestries, paintings and sculptures. This Whitechapel show spans five decades and features more than 250 works. We'll encounter the artist’s radical explorations of material and form, processes and technologies, and consistent rejection of aesthetic convention throughout his career.
