V-A-C Collection Whitechapel
The V-A-C collection is a non-profit gallery, created in Moscow in 2009. From Gerhard Richter to Wassily Kandinsky via Modigliani, the collection has amassed an impressive array of paintings, photographs and sculptures from leading Russian and international artists. Since 2014 the Whitechapel Gallery, London has been on a mission to share this exceptional collection in a series of shows.

Turner Prize nominee Lynette Yiadom-Boakye is the third out of four guest curators to pick from the collection for the Whitechapel Gallery. The Ghanaian painter who lives in Bethnal Green has selected rarely seen works inspired by nature – from still lives to films depicting the natural world – so this is a unique opportunity to see works by big names like David Hockney, Peter Doig and Gary Hume as well as Andy Warhol’s famous screen-printed cows.

  • First Thursday Summer Party

4th June (6-9pm) Whitechapel Gallery is hosting a raucous supper party where you'll be able to take a stroll through the current exhibitions and enjoy an evening of music, performance, talks and of course a pop-up bar. Then Ace Hotel stages the after party down the road in Shoreditch, for those that don't want the night to end. And it's absolutely free!
