The female artists who shattered the art world's glass ceiling

By CW Contributor on 7/3/2017

Mona Hatoum

Hatoum is a Lebanese-born, Palestinian artist often regarded as one of the most important artists working today. Her work can be interpreted as an illustration of displacement, oppression, gender, and sexuality, amongst other things. It was just last year that the Tate Modern held a retrospective spanning 35 years of Hatoum's work — which received wide critical acclaim.
