Has feminism become an elitist, one-size-fits-all movement? While the recent Women’s Marches saw millions of people around the globe celebrate diversity and equality, many contend that the marches almost exclusively showed allegiance to middle-class aspirations and disregarded ‘ordinary’ voices in the process.

This Women's Day, Intelligence Squared will be bringing together a panel of speakers to discuss how the feminist movement may be in danger of losing momentum if it continues to overlook subjects from different backgrounds. The speakers, who include Catherine Mayer, president of the Women's Equality Party and former editor-at-larger of Time magazine, will introduce practical solutions to explore how gender equality can be made more easily accessible to all. Discussions from television presenter, comedian, and novelist David Baddiel, young activist and journalist June Eric Udorie, and British Labour Party politician Jess Phillips will also be heard.

Be sure to hear the arguments and put forth questions to the speakers at the Emmanuel Centre this March.
