​First, what is your approach in general to autumn/winter everyday makeup?

'In autumn and winter, we must emphasise skin as the fresh summer glow wears off. The good thing is that we can easily cheat that glow with the right makeup products.

'I like using a light textured foundation to even out my skin tone and add warmth.

'My favourite foundation is the Chanel Les Beiges Water Fresh Complexion Touch. It seamlessly blends into the skin and never looks like you’re wearing makeup. To add that extra health, use your fingers to dab some Chanel Baume Essentiel in Golden Light high on top of the cheekbones and on your eyelids for a soft contour. ​What sort of shades would you recommend for eyes and lips?

'Autumn is the perfect time for deeper shades of red, such as burgundy, plum, and chocolate. I always recommend leaving the eyes natural when wearing a statement lip, and vice versa when you’re going for a more defined eye look.

​But of course, this year is full of new trends and exciting new colours. Can you suggest an AW23 eye/lip makeup combination?

'There’s also a soft goth trend this autumn/winter. Vampy lips paired with soft, shimmery eyes or dark, smoky eyes paired with a more natural rose/beige lip.

'Chanel's new Lumière Graphique eyeshadow palette is the perfect palette for this trend. It has gorgeous pale shimmery shades to complement a dark lip and a more intense grey to create depth for a sultry, smoky eye.

Red is the fashion colour of the season. Do you spot bright red as a makeup trend as well?

'Red lipstick is the season's colour, with different depths of red. It literally is all you need; it instantly makes you feel better and is super impactful. I prefer a slightly more matte textured red for the day, as it doesn’t move and stays on for longer. My favourite matte red lipsticks are the Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in 63 - Nightfall and 56 - Rouge Charnel.

'A red lip is the most beautiful paired with naturally perfected, glowing skin and a tiny bit of mascara. I like wearing red lipstick without a lipliner. Instead, I apply the colour straight from the bullet and use my little finger or a rounded cotton bud to slightly blur the edges to give it a more lived-in finish. We often overthink when it comes to makeup, less is more. Simple is beautiful.'
