The atmospheric Puppet Theatre Barge is one of London's best-kept secrets. The little-known theatre is the antithesis of television, and often hosts our favourite puppet show productions. The barge docks in Little Venice, but the ship sails down to Richmond for a whirlwind marionette tour.

This March, the Puppet Theatre Barge will host a double bill. Get your sea legs and clamber aboard this dramatic vessel for two exciting new shows.

Monkey Business
Monkey Business will be shown on its own from 5 – 7 May

A monkey uprising is underway. A unified ape troupe stages a rebellion against their circus overlords, taking over the big top. Monkey marionettes perform all kinds of dangerous stunts and hilarious tricks in this light-hearted programme. Prepare for stilt-walking, juggling, and trapeze as these masterful monkeys put on a show to remember.

Mime festival fans, rejoice: this play sees puppets engaged in silent storytelling. The powerful performance follows the adventures of a baby bird. Rejected from the nest and trying to make his way in the world, the hatchling embarks on a heartwarming journey. With a specially composed score and expertly carved marionettes, this tranquil show will enchant the little ones.
