Tomorrowland

We’re expecting great things from new Disney film Tomorrowland, the high-profile sci-fi blockbuster from director Brad Bird (The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol) set for release 22 May and starring two-time Oscar winner (and recent recipient of the Cecil B. DeMille lifetime achievement Award at the 2015 Golden Globes) George Clooney, alongside House actor Hugh Laurie and newcomer Britt Robertson.

New Disney movie, George Clooney: Tomorrowland film plot

Co-written by Damon Lindelof, writer par excellence behind Ridley Scott’s 2013 hit Prometheus as well as the highly anticipated forthcoming sequel Star Trek into Darkness, plot details have been sparse, but the story is reported to follow a scientifically curious teen who embarks on a mission with a former boy-genius inventor to ’unearth the secrets of a place somewhere in time and space that exists in their collective memory.’ Described as a tribute to Steven Spielberg’s Close Encounters of the Third Kind, George Clooney even interrupted his honeymoon in order to unveil the teaser trailer for Tomorrowland, surprising convention-goers by turning up to tell them that the film was 'larger than most things I’ve been around.' It must be big then.
