Lumley joins the author Michael Morpurgo, to read from his poignant, stirring novel with musical accompaniment from the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.
War Horse is the story of young Albert's beloved horse, Joey, who is sold to the cavalry and shipped to France where he witnesses the First World War with bravery that touches the soldiers around him. Albert, not old enough to enlist, cannot forgets Joey and so embarks on a dangerous mission to find him and bring him home.
Drawing live on stage, Olivier Tony and OBIE award-winning British designer Rae Smith is creating animated illustrations of Morpurgo's book accompanied by songs by Tim van Eyken (the original snowman from the National Theatre's War Horse) throughout. Lumley is a beloved actresses, perhaps best known for her portrayal of Patsy Stone in Absolutely Fabulous – a role she revived for 2016’s Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie.
