Best kids winter accessories

By CW Contributor on 1/11/2018

Baby, it's cold outside. So lets keep our babies warm. The best way to do that, while adding some panache to their wardrobes, is with a wintry hat, scarf or pair of mittens or gloves. The brighter, bolder and more eye-catching the designs, the easier to keep track of your little one as you take them on excursions around London. Just be warned: essential as they are, these winter warmers tend to get lost faster than that Han Solo Lego mini-figure in their prized Star Wars Lego advent calendar, so watch them as closely as you watch your mini-me skating around Somerset House.

Best pre-teen friendly scarf: Pom-Pom snood at Zara

Best knit bobble hat: Paul Smith's Sage dinosaur beanie at Harrods

Best knit bobble hat: Paul Smith's Sage dinosaur beanie at Harrods

Grrr, dinosaur, shouts your son's favourite cartoon pig, George (come to think of it, your daughter adores him, too). They'll love sporting this playful T-Rex from Paul Smith at Harrods on their heads – just don't get too close. It might bite.

WHERE
Paul Smith Sage dinosaur beanie, £55.95, Harrods
Best waterproof gloves: Arctic ski gloves at Muddy Puddles

Best waterproof gloves: Arctic ski gloves at Muddy Puddles

Muddy Puddles is our go-to brand for stylish, waterproof and ultra-cosy outerwear and accessories. It's also our go-to destination for feeling good about what we're buying our children - the brand even recycles plastic water bottles to turn them into clothing as part of their EcoSplash range (so cool). These weather-proof gloves are perfect for hitting the slopes – or just getting through that afternoon footie practice without freezing.

WHERE
Arctic ski gloves, £18, Muddy Puddles

Best novelty item: EKA crocheted Christmas elf boots at Not on the High Street

Best novelty item: EKA crocheted Christmas elf boots at Not on the High Street

When is dressing your infant in novelty knitwear unacceptable? That's a trick question, readers: it's always acceptable (so long as your child is small enough not to protest). These elf booties from Not on the High Street are particularly adorable. And will look good not only on your baby, but on your Insta page.
