If you're looking for interesting places to eat near Chalk Farm, look no further than Q Grill. Their new 'Blues' Sunday Brunch near Camden Yards offers a twist on the traditional brunch fare, dishing out live music to accompany some lazy Sunday feasting.
Q Grill, an all day brasserie near Camden Market, serves up locally sourced, seasonal ingredients and the best in BBQ fare. Housing a charcoal pit grill, oven and house smoker, this is southern dining in North London at its most refined.
With a selection of meat and fish dishes grilled and seasoned with their in-house BBQ, amid the variety of brunch places in Camden, Q Grill is the ideal place to while away a Sunday morning, inviting diners to feast on their barbecued meats and vegetarian offerings.
Q Grill: Brunch meets Blues
The new Blues Brunch is a feast for the ears as well, bringing together North London's musical talent to serenade hungry brunch-goers.
Diners are invited to sit inside and immerse themselves in some soothing strumming or dine al fresco and enjoy the summer sun on their new outdoor tables, right on sunny Chalk Farm Road.
The specialist menu, from executive chef Lee Bull, puts a signature spin on traditional brunch fare, with plenty of traditional brunch foods from Eggs Benedict to bacon butties to scrambled eggs with kiln smoked salmon.
If you're feeling less breakfast-oriented, there are dozens of options to choose from the main menu as well. A delicately marinated sea bass ceviche dressed with salt, lime and chilli – and given a crunch with some fried plantain – makes for a perfect light start, or for those after vegetarian fare, Q Grill serve up some tasty salt baked and smoked beets accompanied by goat’s cheese and maple tossed walnuts. Veggies can also opt for the baked butternut squash hummus, accompanied by charred feta and some moreish toasted flat breads.
But, being a BBQ restaurant, Q Grill's main thrust is of course the meat. There are plenty of grill options to choose from, but their signature dish a – very rich – beef haché, topped with fried duck egg and Worcestershire dressing. Delicious but heavy, we'd recommend ordering it if you've plenty of room and a yearning for something meaty.
To complement the brunch, there's a nicely curated wine list as well as a variety of craft beers and unusual or classic cocktails. There's also an in-house Bloody Mary station – so you're free to make yours as spicy as you can stomach.
With their raw bar and salad counter you can enjoy their healthier fare: but we'd probably not expect you to head there unless you're after something meaty. Q Grill Blues Brunch is definitely a contender for the best brunch in Camden. London foodies unite where blues meets brunch: just be prepared for meat...and plenty of it.

  • What the critics say

    Q Grill reviews

    EVENING STANDARD

'It is a perfect amalgamation of the house styles of every other ‘grill’ in London: it is cavernous and built for groups, like Big Easy, but hewn in muted, we-mean-business colours, like Pitt Cue. The menu sings with a serious attitude to achieving smoky richness, just like at Smokehouse — and your cornbread (which is bloody great and boasts a real green chilli kick) appears in a paper bag, just like at Barnyard.'
