Margot, Covent Garden

A luxurious Italian restaurant in the heart of Covent Garden that's the work of three hospitality maestros

By CW Contributor on 5/10/2016

Margot, Covent Garden
Margot, Covent Garden
Margot, Covent Garden Margot, Covent Garden Adam Bloodworth
This much-hyped Covent Garden Italian is the brainchild of three hospitality maestros. Paulo De Tarso (Maitre d' at Bar Boulud), Nicolas Jaouën (La Petite Maison) and head chef Maurizio Morelli (Latinum) - and they have something new in store for London.

Guests will peruse the menu, then order dishes at bespoke sizes, so that they can eat more from the menu. Inside, the look will be traditional and classic, with ornate finishes, such as individual desk lamps at the bar, offset with statement design detail in polished metal. It's the work of Fabled Studio, behind Restaurant Gordon Ramsay.

We recommend nearby

  • Parsons

Parsons is a thoroughly old-fashioned spot, with a maroon-tiled facade, a white tiled interior and antique mirrors on which are written their daily changing selection of fresh whole fish which make up most of the mains. We love it.

  • Scoop

Scoop’s Covent Garden Ice Cream parlour is the best stop for luxury ice creams in Central London. For serious cocoa indulgence, their dark chocolate ice-cream can’t be beaten. There’s even a rich chocolate sorbet for the dairy-avoidant among us!

  • Balthazar

Hit up Balthazar for the daily special or get your beef on with the excellent steak tartare. Still hungry? The Saturday brunch is a feast – and if you’ve room to spare, pop next door to the deli and pick up some patisserie for an afternoon snack.

London has many amazing restaurants and Balthazar is a fantastic place to visit - keep an eye on Culture Whisper for news and reviews!
