This February, Shulman comes to the how to: Academy to give a talk. And perhaps some answers. At any rate, it's a great chance to see the woman behind the headlines when her profile has never been higher. Shulman will discuss the development of British Vogue at Condé Nast College of Fashion & Design, offering honest and refreshing insights into life behind the glossy magazine.
Discover what it was like pulling together the celebrations to celebrate Vogue's 100th birthday, which included a landmark 100th Anniversary Issue of the magazine starring Kate Moss, a beloved National Portrait Gallery exhibition, a 'behind the scenes' look at the Vogue office in the BBC documentary Absolutely Fashion and the publication of Shulman's own famously frank book: Inside Vogue: A Diary Of My 100th Year.
We can also expect insight into Shulman's role organising the Vogue 100 Gala back in May and an account of a life spent flying around the globe for international fashion weeks and working with the rich, famous, glamorous and inspirational, from Kate Moss to Alexa Chung.
Since taking up the mantle from Liz Tilberis in 1992, Shulman has overseen one of the most exciting and successful periods of the magazine’s history. A London native, Shulman has also published two novels and is a regular contributor to The Times, The Guardian, The Daily Telegraph and The Daily Mail.
Tickets include a drinks reception and an opportunity to buy a copy of Shulman’s recently published book Inside Vogue: A Diary of My 100th Year, charting Shulman's year preparing for Vogue's centenary celebrations in a series of diary posts, including how she kept the Duchess of Cambridge's cover shoot a secret from the world, her family and her team, and the nightmare of when the world's most famous model doesn't arrive for a shoot, or when renowned photographers go off brief.
The evening is a rare opportunity to meet the woman who has the British fashion industry at her fingertips.
