Pianist Anne Lovett and violinist Agathe Max include their own compositions among classical and more modern works. And the performance is enhanced by visuals from Li Chevalier and Obscure clarté.
An in-person audience and online audience can both enjoy the work of French composers Erik Satie and Lili Boulanger. Also on the bill, music by the English composer Henry Purcell and Austrian-American violin virtuoso Fritz Kreisler.
Violinst Agathe Max plays her own composition
Lovett's own 2019 piece is entitled Margate, What We Are. The artist studied in Paris before coming to the Royal Academy of Music in London.
Max's White Mill Under Sun Ra's Control, from 2014, has atmospheric layers of sound, product of her experiments across musical genres since leaving Bourgoin-Jallieu School of Music in France in 1995.
In the very week that live performance to live audiences resumes, here is a concert in a manageable space but with a really broad range.
In Between Light and Shade is presented as part of Beyond Words and Les Salons en Musique, a chamber music concert series supported by Aline Foriel-Destezet. To enjoy the concert online click here
