For Spring / Summer 2015 Erdem showed a magnificent collection which drew inspiration from botanical artist Marianne North. Floor length dresses were created from foilage prints whilst edgy tweed was worked into immaculately cut day dresses. There were also textured midi skirts and short dresses covered in feathers. It was a veritable treat in which the sinister elements of the natural world were worked into the most modern of platforms.
In spite of Erdem's success there has been a label shaped hole in London's retail scene (though of course fans of the brand have been able to buy Erdem from stockists such as Browns since the label's debut).
This summer the label will finally open a temple within which followers of the brand can worship. Culture Whisper is highly excited by the new Erdem shop opening, for there is nothing more enjoyable than visiting a well curated boutique and appreciating, perhaps even purchasing, these masterful creations in their rightful setting.
Of the new shop opening in London, Erdem said: "I'm so thrilled to be opening my first store. London was a natural choice. It is where I am based, and where I trained to do what I do. I love the space, and it's such an exciting first step."
