Caragh Thuring paintings are loosely constructed and explore the recurring motifs of pyramids, brickwork, volcanoes and the human silhouette. As her
images unfold, the viewer is prompted with fragments of information that force you to construct the rest of the scene for yourself. In this way, Thuring attempts to break down our pre-set way of reading a painting; the viewer’s visual recognition pattern is interrupted and they become directly involved in the work.
