V&A: Constable, Tom's Kitchen

The Constable exhibition at the V&A now comes with its own Tom's Kitchen menu. Unwind after a day out in London with a delicious selection of art-inspired dishes

V&A: Constable, Tom's Kitchen
You can now accompany your visit to the V&A’s remarkable Constable exhibition with a specially created lunch at Chelsea favourite, Tom’s Kitchen. Head chef Tom Aiken and his team have devised the ideal prelude to an afternoon in the V&A’s galleries with their new lunch menu, which draws inspiration from Constable’s oil paintings.

Ethos

Aiken’s acclaimed restaurants have long emphasised the importance of British fare, and the use of seasonal ingredients. It is this ethos which makes him perfectly suited to a culinary celebration of Constable’s work and its relationship to the English countryside. Aiken’s chefs all uphold the importance of environmentally sustainable cooking, and support local agriculture by remaining loyal to local fishermen and community farms.

Menu
Dishes on the Constable menu include potted smoked and poached salmon with pickled cucumber, and Blythburgh Pork Belly served with caramelized parsnips and garnished with a spiced honey glaze. We suggest you keep a little room for pudding, too, however, as we are particularly excited by the prospect of a sticky toffee pudding topped with salted caramel ice cream.
Aiken is deservedly renowned in the world of British fine dining, having first made his name at Michelin-starred Tante Claire.
