With a huge range of exhibitions and events produced by over 300 photographers, Photomonth is “bubbling over with brilliant images” and guarantees something for everyone. Now in its fourteenth year, this international photography festival has become widely recognised as an innovative and energetic series, not to be missed. In Photomonth 2014, east London comes to the foreground with the strong theme of Imagining the East End, showcasing the talent of artists who are revolutionising our perception of this small, but highly influential, area of London.
ARCHIVE: Imagining the East End

Photomonth kicks off at the Cass Gallery, Whitechapel with ARCHIVE: Imagining the East End, running from 2nd October to 2nd November. Inspired by the East End Archive, a diverse collection of contemporary and historical work relating to London’s East End, this exhibition portrays the area as both a physical location and an intangible space that is constantly changing. The photos range from documentary images to imaginative works by a wide variety of photographers, offering a creative and exciting perspective on this unique part of the city.
Seminars and events

We also recommend checking out Photomonth’s many seminars and events, including Motion Blur, a night of talks merging the worlds of cycling and photography, and IdeasTap Inspires: Polaroid Photography, a full-day workshop with photographer Rhiannon Adam, Polaroid guru.
