Bouchra Khalili, Lisson Gallery

Horizons, journeys and crossing borders: don't miss this timely Lisson Bouchra Khalili exhibition, which presents the stories of migrants in their own words

Bouchra Khalili, Lisson Gallery
As the European refugee crisis widens and deepens, the world is forced to question its idea borders, maps, roads and sense of home. Moroccan-French artist Bouchra Khalili explores issues of migration and displacement in her lyrical yet scholarly video-works, which you can discover at the Lisson Gallery this winter.

This is Khalili's first ever solo London show, following those at MoMA and Palais de Tokyo. Spare and precise, her videos explore the Mediterranean area as seen by from a nomadic existence. She combining maps with stories, pitching the lived experience of emigration with the flatness of geographic map.

This Lisson show brings together the multi-channel Mapping Journey Project, a silkscreen project called The Constellation Series and the multimedia Foreign Office.

Never patronising, always precise - politics give way to storytelling in Khalili's work. A real find.
