Tucked away from the bustle of Oxford Circus is the UK’s foremost exhibitor of photography. With two superlative shows running simultaneously this winter, there’s never been a better time to go. A major retrospective of pioneering colour photographer Saul Leiter doubles up as an eye-opening look at the development of the art-form and an irresistible window into the fashions and faces of 1950s NYC. Then the smaller Rosangela Renno shows gives a fascinating insight into South American political upheaval.

Vogue 100: A Century of Style, National Portrait Gallery 11 Feb - 22 May
The National Portrait Gallery is celebrating 100 years of British Vogue with a new photography exhibition looking back through the magazine’s rich history. Almost 300 images illustrate Britain’s glamorous cultural record, from Lee Miller’s Second World War images right up to photographs of grunge-era Kate Moss.

Cinephiles, adventurers and the simply curious flock from around the world to be part of the big budget, top-secret immersive film experiences created by Secret Cinema. Past projects have imprisoned audiences in Shawshank Redemption and whisked them away to a galaxy far far away for Star Wars. The Odyssey, Wilton’s Music Hall 23 Feb – 19 March
After amassing awards last year for gripping dance theatre Dracula, Jonathan Goddard and the Mark Bruce Company return with an even more ambitious project: a dance adaptation of The Odyssey. Homer’s epic will be revived at Wilton's Music Hall, London's only original Victorian music. Step back in time to enjoy a cocktail in its warren of historic hidden rooms, and admire a visual feast from some of the UK's most innovative dance stars.
