The Culture Whisper launch party (complete with alarm bells)

Culture Whisper was officially launched last month, with a glamorous party (though we do say so ourselves) at the Royal College of Art in Kensington Gore

Eleonore Dresch with Alain and Charlotte de Botton

Culture Whisper was officially launched last month, with a party at the Royal College of Art in Kensington Gore.

Founder Eleonore Dresch welcomed friends, arts journalists, aspiring writers, actors, composers and celebrity guests including Edward St Aubyn, Alain de Botton, Euan Blair, Philippa Perry, Michael Jackson, Oliver James and Michael Portillo to celebrate London’s first bespoke arts preview listings site, which gives Londoners the cultural keys to their city for only £65 a year. No more shall 'What to see in London?' be repeatedly typed into Google when Culture Whisper can provide the answer, collating the best of London events and attractions into one convenient and personal list.

The RCA’s Senior Common Room, featuring squishy sofas, low lighting and a banging DJ set courtesy of Will Lowes, was a venue which evoked nothing so much as decadent student digs meets artist's garret meets underground nightclub – how very appropriate. Even a fire alarm forcing evacuation of the building didn't stop guest returning to party until after midnight, while Salvador Dali, Dita von Teese and Ginger Rogers lookalikes kept proceedings going with a swing.

Huge thanks from the whole Culture Whisper team to Ruinart for bubbles, Domaine du Saint Amant et Domaine de la Verriere for wine, the Wandering Chef for canapés and Prestat for delicious goody bag chocolates.
