Frieze London Art Fair, the biggest contemporary art event of the year, is back for a 12th innings, descending upon Regent's Park from 16-19 Oct 2014 to showcase art from 150 international galleries.

Always attracting the heavyweights of the art world, as well as the cream of the emerging talent crop, it is the place to be for buyers, sellers,or anyone with a passion for compelling new art. Despite Frieze drawing considerable crowds and a touch of stress, you can still have all the fun of the fair with our basic event guide, not just at Frieze itself but all over London as the city's artistic side comes to life for the occasion. Key Frieze events 2014
The new 'Live' initiative showcasing performance based installations throughout the fair.
FRIEZE projects – commissioning works of art specifically for the fair and other sides around the city which play on live audience dynamics
FRIEZE ARTIST AWARD – debut award, presented to Melanie Matranga which invites artists to create a new site-specific work for the fair.
FRIEZE MASTERS – Now in its third year, a side fair with a vast range of work from Ancient Greece up to 2000 and is comparatively cheap.
FRIEZE FOCUS - For a taste of the unknown visit Frieze’s ‘Focus’ section which promotes solo or group shows from emerging galleries especially for the fair.

Food at Frieze:
Within the fair itself, a range of high-end gastronomy will be on offer, featuring Bocca Di Lupo, Brunswick House: Raw, Caravan, GAILS’s, Moshi Moshi and Pizza Pilgrims; while Frieze Masters will host outposts of Locanda Locatelli and Umu, both of which are Michelin-starred.
For restaurants in the immediate vicinity, head to Chiltern Firehouse, Bonnie Gull Seafood Cafe, Honey & Co, Monocle Cafe, or the new Corbin & King venture Fischer's on Marylebone High Street.

The Other Art Fair

The comparatively young Other Art Fair is back for the 7th time, returning to the iconic Old Truman Brewery building for a showcase of work from 100 artists, none of whom are represented by a gallery. With an artist-led ethos, this fair is particularly special for those interested in directly dealing with the makers of the art on show, and you can also gain entry to the Moniker Art Fair with the joint ticket.

1.54 Contemporary African art fair, 16-19 Oct 2014. Though African Art has long been brushed aside by a historically western-centred art market, this interesting new platform for galleries, artists, curators, and museums involved in Africa-related projects strives to bring this under-appreciated genre to the fore. The second edition of the 1.54 Contemporary African Art Fair will offer a plethora of the continent's established and emerging talents. Expect lively debates, fascinating lectures, film screenings, exhibitions, and much more from this enterprising event.

Held in Berkeley Square, PAD represents work from over 60 international galleries and dealers specialising in modern art, design and decorative arts from 1860 up to the present day.

The Christie's Multiplied Art Fair is the UK’s only fair devoted exclusively to contemporary art in editions. Held at Christie’s South Kensington, it consists of talks and workshops alongside the chance to acquire a variety of prints, digital artworks, books, and photographs, and represents an equally diverse range of artists from high-profile individuals to creative collectives.
