It's Mother's Day again, so what are you going to do? You could buy her flowers again, but why do that when you can spend a day creating your own bouquets together in some of the nicest florists in London?

Olivia Burton is most famous as a fashion watch brand, established by ex-fashion buyers Lesa Bennett and Jemma Fennings, but this mothering Sunday they're hosting two floral workshops in collaboration with Wild Wood London, the "bespoke floral studio" run by ex-Burberry designer Charlotte Wood (check them out here).

Guests are taught the art of creating a bouquet of flowers, whilst sipping on complimentary prosecco and nibbling sweet treats. Best of all, you don't need to buy any kind of present: there's a goodie bag offered to everyone that includes an Olivia Burton Vintage Bow Bracelet.

The Covent Garden Academy of Flowers One Day Course

Nestled in St Martin's Courtyard, near to the famous New Covent Garden Flower Market, is The Covent Garden Academy of Flowers: one of the country’s leading flower design schools, which runs flower arranging courses for floral enthusiasts throughout the year.

On Friday 24th March, the mother and daughter team behind The Covent Garden Academy of Flowers is offering a 2-for-1 Mother's Day floral arranging special, which means you can bring your mother along with you for free, learn the art of flower arranging, create a bouquet to take home with you and enjoy the tea and cakes on offer throughout the workshop.

Blue Sky Flowers Spring Floral Workshop

When: Friday 13th March (10:30am - 1pm) and Saturday 14th March (10:30am - 1pm and 2:30pm - 5pm)
Where: New Covent Garden Flower Market (location confirmed through booking)
Price: £60 per person, £120 for two



Blue Sky Flowers, primarily wedding florists, are also to be found in New Covent Garden Flower Market (no surprise!). This Mother's Day they too are running a floral workshop. Expect trade experts to shown how to make a flower bouquet, arranged in a small vase display, and then go ahead and make one to take home. Everything is provided, including coffee, hot chocolate, nibbles - and, of course, all flowers and materials.

Grace and Thorn 'Terrarium Tuesdays' and 'Floral Thursdays'

When: First Tuesday and last Thursday of each month (7pm - 9pm)

We're in love with Grace and Thorn, and they're on our list of the best florists in London. Every Thursday, they run something called 'Floral Thursdays', teaching guests how to create flower arrangements, Grace and Thorn style. This time, 'Floral Thursdays' arrives on the 30th March.

Each month alternates between creating hand-tied bouquet and an arrangement in a pickle jar, and this March you can expect to join in a pickle workshop, using seasonal flowers.

For those who prefer succulents to flowers, there are also 'Terrarium Tuesdays' available - again, everything is provided, from the vessel to the succulents - and you get to take home your own mini garden.

Judith Blacklock Flower School Masterclass and Michelin-starred lunch at Pétrus

When: Monday 27th March (10am start at the Judith Blacklock Flower School, followed by lunch at Pétrus at 12:30pm)

If prosecco and nibbles doesn't sound like enough nourishment, then this is the workshop for you: a day of flower arranging is followed by a Michelin-starred lunch at Pétrus on Kinnerton Street.

Start the day with a workshop on the essentials of flower arranging hosted by Judith Blacklock, author of 15 bestselling books and editor of The Flower Arranger magazine. After a short walk to Pétrus, enjoy a glass of champagne and a luxurious Michelin-starred three-course lunch, expertly created by Head Chef Larry Jayasekara. Additional guests may join for lunch at a reduced rate.
