Writer and director David Byrne plumbs deep into ideas of destruction and legacy in a story that encompasses three time frames. We follow famous scientist Dr Jacob Bronowski, author of The Ascent of Man, as he works on top secret and lethal, wartime projects. In the present day, we meet Bronowski's grandson and his tinder date as they unearth family secrets. And, in the most distant past, we get glimpses of our ancestors.
It's a dense and complex story, packed into a short play. But this combination of history, science, fact and fiction will leave you with plenty to think about.
