Mark Jagasia's hit comedy about a diabolical newspaper, Clarion, returns to the Arcola after runaway success

Clarion, Arcola Theatre
After causing a sensation at its world premiere earlier this year,  dark comedy Clarion returns to the Arcola Theatre. Stage stalwarts Greg Hicks and Clare Higgins will reprise their roles.
Journalist turned playwright Mark Jagasia keeps the humour rooted in truth in a show that reveals a newspaper in crisis: first the astrologer goes haywire, distracting from a bigger problem that threatens to destroy the Clarion newspaper
As former Showbusiness Editor of the Daily Express, Mark Jagasia brings accuracy and razor-sharp observation to this black comedy, as well as a revealing portrait of the state of media and its roles in society. Expect filthy, on the nose comedy -- which will make anyone with experience in the tabloid world wince.
It's not just the comedy that gives Clarion pulling power. This Arcola show brings two of our starriest stage actors to Dalston for the second time. With innumerable awards between them, Greg Hicks and Clare Higgins combine classical stage experience with impeccable comic timing. Catch Clarion now in the intimacy of the Arcola; it's already returned due to popular demand and we wouldn't be surprised if it won a West End transfer.
