Visitors, Bush Theatre

After proving a smash hit at the Arcola, Visitors, Barney Norris's stunning debut, returns to London following a national tour.

The play is an exploration of love in the most adverse of circumstances; Edie is suffering with dementia and her husband Arthur is struggling to cope. House guest-come-carer Kate and the couple’s son Stephen make up this four hander, with each trying to fathom the best future for themselves and those they love.
Barney Norris: Most Promising Playwright nominee
Visitors is the first full length offering from young playwright Barney Norris. As a debut, it has proved a triumph, earning Norris two well deserved awards for Most Promising Playwright.
A theatre hidden gem
We saw Visitors on its first outing and were absolutely blown away (and reduced to tears on more than one occasion). Performances are strong all round and the deftness with which Norris handles this most sensitive of subjects is astonishing. Visitors is a stunning play from a playwright we expect to see much more of in the future.
