Apocalypse Meow, Southbank Centre
If you're curious about cabaret then Apocalyse Meow is the purrfect way to dip your paws into one of the most dynamic and surprising theatrical genres. Singing sensation Meow Meow is the cat's whiskers.
The feisty feline has charmed critics and audiences alike both in musical theatre, where she originated the rôle of the Maîtresse in the West End adaptation of The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, and with her solo shows: Meow Meow in Concert played for three nights at the West End’s Apollo Theatre, and Feline Intimate featured as part of The Sounthbank Centre’s London Wonderground season.
We're excited to see this smart, sassy performer take on seasonal themes and cliches. Don’t go expecting the traditional festive fare – Meow Meow’s shows occupy a land far far away from Good King Wenceslas and the little town of Bethlehem.
Apocalypse Meow: A Crisis is Born promises ‘Floods, fires, famines and unexpected fur-balls’. What could be more Christmassy than that?
