Men in Cities, Royal Court

After sellout success at Ediburgh Fringe and the Royal Court, Men in Cities, Chris Goode's moving one man show returns.

Chris Goode in Men in Cities
After impressing and winning a Fringe First award at last year's Edinburgh Fringe, Men in Cities returns to London's Royal Court this summer.
Men in Cities - play
Written and performed by Chris Goode, Men in the Cities is a show bookended by death: the murder of Lee Rigby in Woolwich in May 2013, and the incomprehensible suicide of a young gay man. The play shows us the splintered shards of ostensibly separate lives, which together explore the formation of relationships and the complicity of tragedy.
Actor and playwright Chris Goode
Goode is developing quite the name for himself within fringe theatre, with credits including two Fringe First award-winning shows, and his own solo debut Kiss of Life which opened in Edinburgh and travelled to Sydney Opera House as part of the Sydney International Festival. His production of …Sisters at the Gate Theatre also won him the Headlong/Gate New Directions Award.
Director Wendy Hubbard is an associate artist of Goode’s theatre collective Chris Goode and Company and has worked with him on a number of his solo productions. It is this kind of long running collaboration between actor and director that makes fringe productions develop to larger scale shows and ensures resonance with the audience.
Cementing his reputation as one to watch on the fringe circuit, Goode's latest show brings some of the best of Edinburgh Fringe to London.
