Russell Brand on How to Help and Be Helped, Emmanuel Centre
At the start of his career, Russell Brand may not have been somebody who you would’ve considered mentor material. However, after successfully battling addiction and rebranding himself (no pun intended) as a political activist, his voice has become increasingly influential.

Now he's giving a talk at the Emmanuel Centre for the How To: Academy, coinciding with the launch of his new book: Mentors: How to Help and Be Helped. In both the book and talk, Brand explores the impact that role models have had on his life.

Giving a little hint as to what to expect, Brand says that: ‘I will encourage you to find mentors of your own and explain how you may better use the ones you already have.’ Furthermore, his talk covers his own experiences of mentoring others and the value that process has had on his journey towards self-acceptance.

It’s not his new stand-up set but this talk offers an opportunity to see Brand, renowned for his charisma and unpredictability, in action. It might even get you thinking about the important figures in your own life.
