Yanis Varoufakis in conversation with Michael Howard, The Tabernacle

Yanis Varoufakis and Michael Howard tackle Europe's biggest questions at The Tabernacle

Yanis Varoufakis
Yaris Varoufakis is one of the most divisive political figures of recent times. To some, he was set to be his country’s hero; to others, its ruin. As Greece’s finance minister, he was an ardent opponent of austerity, entering into fierce negotiations with the country’s creditors.

It’s difficult to think of a politician more dissimilar to Varoufakis than Michael Howard. Former Conservative Party leader, he served as a cabinet member in both Margaret Thatcher and John Major’s governments. Drawn from opposite ends of the political spectrum, you’d expect their conversation at the Tabernacle to be nothing short of gladiatorial.

Discussing the Greek crisis, Brexit, and the future of the EU, Howard and Varoufakis will take positions on Europe’s most pressing questions. Expect lively discussion to say the least.
