Roger Vivier's Creative Director, Bruno Frisoni, at V&A

Roger Vivier's Creative Director, Bruno Frisoni discussing his creations and career at the Victoria & Albert museum

Bruno Frisoni, Creative Director of Roger Vivier with actress Marisa Brown
'My shoes are sculptures', designer Roger Vivier once said. The eponymous French fashion house, famous for creating the Stiletto heal and for it's glitteringly ornate shoes, worn by everyone from Queen Elizabeth on her coronation to The Beatles, were so embellished with pearls, petals, pleating, flowers, ruffles, glass beads and even zippers, that their shoes became known as 'the Fabergé of footwear'.
In the decade since Bruno Frisoni took over as Creative Director of Roger Vivier, the luxury brand has changed much, embracing a more masculine edge and moving away form the hyper-feminine image without every loosing sight of the essential belief: that shoes should be sculptural.
The current Creative Director Bruno Frisoni is coming to the Victoria & Albert Museum in South Kensington to talk about his work, currently featured in the V&A's Pleasure and Pain exhibition as well as about his astonishing career.
Frisoni will also elaborate on the brand's development. In recent months RV accessories have been worn by Jessica Chastain, Alison Williams, and Elizabeth Banks, and other accessories including clutches have been carried by Kerry Washington, Keira Knightley and Jennifer Lawrence.
Of all the shoe-themed exhibitions and events that have taken London by storm this year, the Bruno Frisoni talk is among the most exciting and revelatory, and we can't wait to go.
