32 Londoners, London Eye

Influential figures give lectures on the London Eye: 32 Londoners tickets on sale now.

32 Londoners 2015
Most Londoners have never themselves been aboard the London Eye. June 11 offers the perfect opportunity. After the sell-out success of last year (see the video to the the right) Southbank welcomes 32 Londoners 2015 back to its famous Ferris Wheel.
For one night only, the Eye will slow down and each of its 32 pods will transform into an incredibly intimate lecture space. For 45 minutes, 32 famous faces will talk about their own favourite Londoners, historic and contemporary. This year's theme is 'adopted Londoners', so each of the subjects discussed were born elsewhere, but drawn to the capital.
Last year's line up was fantastic; and this year's is no different. Highlights include the muse of Lucian Freud, Sue Tilley, or 'Big Sue', who will remember the late artist in her lecture. Eminent Architectural Historian Gavin Stamp discusses George Gilbert Scott, while dramatist and award-winning writer Ian Kelly will discuss Vivienne Westwood: his 2014 biography won rave reviews all round.
The world's biggest Tory, Charles Moore, has chosen Margaret Thatcher- who else? To even things out, Marxist Scholar Professor David McLellan will speak on Karl Marx. Hawksmoor is the subject of writer Iain Sinclair - the devoutest Londoner of all  32, whose life's work has been to map the city's psychogeography. (Sold Out).
Other speakers include broadcaster Robert Elms on footballer Stan Bowles, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond on Princess Diana, investigative journalist Gavin MacFadyen on Julian Assange. Click here to see the full line-up.
Each ticket will get you a free Aspalls cider, too. Lovely.
