Following the glowing reviews for My Night With Reg, the Donmar hosts a panel discussion about the changes in gay rights since the play's first run.

With the legalisation of gay marriage marking a landmark in the shift in homosexual rights in England today, Kevin Elyot's depiction of gay life in 1980s London continues to hold relevance and poignance. Join a selection of big names from the arts and dramatic worlds to discuss the developments both on and off stage.

Thespian Neil Bartlett was awarded an OBE for his contribution to theatre and among his novels Who Was That Man explores the  contemporary repercussions of London's gay history. Lisa Power is founding member of influential gay and lesbian rights campaigning group Stonewall. Mark Gatiss co-created  and starred in Sherlock as the brilliant but beleaguered Mycroft. He's a household name after  involvement  with Dr Who and The League of Gentlemen. Matt Cain is an arts critic cum TV producer and presenter.

Editor of Variety Magazine, David Benedict chairs the discussion.

The Show...

Set amid the AIDS epidemic in the 1980s London gay community, the play follows a group of friends over the course of several years. We never meet the promiscuous Reg of the title, but a night spent with him changes the course of the each character's life. The hilarity and vulnerability that ensue present a touching portrait of the nature of friendship and happiness.
