Rock music’s greatest pioneer, an artist, fashion icon, film star, sex God: the chameleonic Bowie radically altered the world in more ways than it is possible to list.
He enchanted every generation since the '70s with his Peter Pan energy, so when he died this year just days after the release of his album Blackstar, the world choked in disbelief.
Paul Morley was co-curator of the ground-breaking, multi-media V&A exhibition David Bowie Is…, which became the fastest-selling show in the museum’s history, with 310,000 visitors and hundreds more turned away each day, before touring the globe.
Morley will draw on his new definitive biography, The Age of Bowie, the first since the pop legend's death, at this How to: Academy Bowie talk, illuminating some of the greatest moment’s of Bowie’s career, and exploring how he worked, played and structured his ideas.
Morley will be joined by Booker Prize nominee Deborah Levy, who will introduce with a talk on Bowie and his influence on her generation.
