5 spring makeup trends and how to do them

Makeup artist Zoë Taylor is back this month with some precious advice on the latest Spring makeup trends

GRAPHIC LINER

LORD AND BERRY | Silk Kajal Kohl Eye Liner

I love a graphic liner, it is so versatile and this season we see it in all its variations. Often people assume that graphic eyeliner is only reserved for people with lots of eyelid space and certain eye shapes, but anyone can wear it. With a little tweaking it suits all eye shapes.I always recommend lightly tracing the shape you want with a black pencil before using liquid or gel liner; Lord & Berry Silk Kajal Kohl Eyeliner glides on easily but is also very easy to clean off with micellar water if you make any mistakes.

CHANEL | CALLIGRAPHIE DE CHANEL

This season we see a lot of full lid coverage. To achieve this beautiful heavy colour, trace the liner with your eyes open, while looking into a mirror. Pick the point on your outer eyelid where you would like the flick to end, try lifting it slightly to elongate your eye. If you have eyelid space, trace to the edge of your socket. If you have hooded lids go just beyond the crease of your eyelid. Next close your eye and match up the shape to look smooth and fill it in. Once you are happy with the shape use a gel liner to go over it. CHANEL de Caligraphie is deep black and once dry stays put.

FLUSHED ROSE BUD LIPS

TINKER TAYLOR | Little Lip Kit

The perfect healthy bitten lip is everywhere this season, the desire for a more natural lip is high!

Makeup sure your lips are properly prepped, try using a scrub to buff off any dry skin, and an oil for a hit of hydration, I love Tinker Taylor Lip Kit as it contains 3 products which are the perfect solution to dry lips, Lip Scrub, Lip Oil and Lip Balm, the best kind of skincare for lips. Remember to seal in all the oil goodness with the nourishing balm from the Lip Kit.

CHANEL | Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lipstick

Choose a pink which is a little more intense than your natural lip colour. I absolutely love the new CHANEL ROUGE ALLURE L'EXTRAIT lipsticks, they are not only refillable, but the colours are highly pigmented while being super hydrating and glossy. Shade 822 is the perfect colour for me for this trend. I like to apply it using a fluffy brush rather than straight from the bullet as this gives a more beautiful softer finish.

MONOCHROMATIC

L'OREAL | Super Liner 102 Pure Espresso

I think matching your lips, cheeks and eyes is so beautiful, especially if you choose dusty pinks and mauves.

I always start with a little bit of brown liner smudged into the top lashes and blended onto the lid this is to give definition, try L’Oreal Super Liner in Espresso.

HOURGLASS | Ambient Lighting Blush

If you want something more ethereal looking, skip this part. Rather than using an eyeshadow on the lids, try a blusher instead. I love Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Sublime Flush. Once you have got the intensity you desire, apply the same blush under the cheekbones and high into the temples, this will warm up the skin and give definition to the face. Keep the powder product off the apples of the cheeks as it is nice to have some shine there.

CHANEL | N°1 DE CHANEL LIP AND CHEEK BALM

No 1 de CHANEL Cheek and Lip Balm is the most beautiful glossy formula which comes in 6 shades, and is perfect for the pinched cheek look. Healthy Pink is my favourite. You can apply the same Lip and Cheek Balm onto your lips, using your ring finger, start in the centre and work the product outwards the edges of the lips.

RED LIP

CHANEL | Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lipstick

A red lip is timeless and this season we see it as being very effortless, worn with softened edges and a naked eye.

Ditch the lipliner and instead choose a lipstick with high pigment. For an orange based red, try ROUGE ALLURE L'EXTRAIT in 852, It's perfect for Spring

CAROLINA HERRERA | The Lipstick Matte

For a blue based red, try Carolina Herrera Lipstick In Red 416. Apply straight from the bullet onto the lip to ensures full coverage, and gently blot with a tissue to slightly mattify.

Take a soft cotton tip and gently rub the edges of your lipline, this is to encourage the colour slightly outwards. I love this simple way of making the lips appear fuller.

Team with a curled lash -no mascara.

If you prefer a powder try Code8 Bronze Summer Glow Powder. Apply it where the sun would naturally fall on your face; along cheekbones, top of your forehead and onto the bridge of your nose. LOTTIE | Freckle tint

Freckles are so cute. Try adding them over the bridge of the nose. I love to use Lottie Freckle Pen as it is super fine. Once you dot them on, pat them once with your finger, this helps to spread the colour a tiny bit and seem less perfect
