Anyone Can Sing, Hyde Park Corner and Sky Arts

Anyone Can Sing gets budding vocalists out of the bath
'I'm tone deaf!', 'I can't sing a note!', 'I only sing in the bath!' .... those who love the sound of singing but can't quite master the art are in for a treat. A Sky Arts series from Wed 30 March takes six vocalists unsure about their voice and shows them all the tricks of the trade.

English National Opera and Royal Opera house tenor soloist Nicky Spence will be among those helping the newcomers to find their voices. And as a warm-up, audiences too can have a go, on Tues 29 March at a free all-day singing event at Hyde Park Corner.

Nicky and friends will be giving sessions at 2PM and 3:30PM, but there will be singing opportunities all day long, from 10AM to 5PM. Just book online and roll up.

Then tune in to Sky Arts from 30 March at 7PM, as the six would-be singers are coaxed out of the bathroom and into the limelight over a series of programmes.

Nicky, who has had to withdraw from the Royal Opera House's Samson et Dalila while recovering from a fall, is patron of Blackheath Halls Opera, which also has a knack of finding unrealised voices. Look out for its eye-catching new production later this year.

In the meantime, experience the joy of singing with others, at Hyde Park, and settle back for guaranteed fun and fascination with Anyone Can Sing.
