A Curious Invitation, A Winter Masked Ball
The Vaults – a subterranean maze of deep, dark galleries nestled beneath Waterloo Station – is hosting a two-night winter extravaganza of debauchery and immersive adventure at the end of November – and you're invited.
Party-planning extraordinaires A Curious Invitation present A Winter Masked Ball. Inspired by science fiction classics, the masked ball will take you on a journey through a subterranean fairy-tale labyrinth of deep, dark galleries to celebrate the 'devout, the dissenter and the devilish'.
Dance the night away whilst sipping on delicious cocktails and sampling sumptuous food in an underground space age colony with martian caves, glittering forests and lunar grottos designed by theatrical maestros Darling and Edge. For the two-night spectacular, over 100 performers will be taking part in the festivities curating a magical evening of music, theatre, opera and cabaret.
We are particularly excited by The Cabaret at the end of the Universe: an homage to Douglas Adam's cult book, The Restaurant at the End of the Universe. During this showcase, party hosts claim you'll 'travel five hundred and seventy-six thousand million years into the future – where the universe exists perpetually on the brink of extinction – to Milliwatts restaurant where your table awaits. Here at the End of All Existence the show is about to start.'
We warn you in advance that this Masked Winter Ball is themed, so dressing up is heartily encouraged. Think Venetian carnival, Renaissance finery, Masque of the Red Death, Phantom of the Opera, or, WW2 gas masks, and animal costumes. Embrace lace, powdered wigs, feathered headdress, glitter and extravagant make-up. Masks are an absolute must!
