Tales for Winter: The Globe family half term storytelling and workshops

Since it's time to start getting cosy in hats and scarves, it's the perfect time for a spot of storytelling with the kids this October half term

Macbeth Michael Fassbender
Getting little ones excited about Shakespeare can be an uphill struggle. But this October half term, The Globe has created a series of fun-filled family activities and workshops introducing little ones to a selection of Shakespeare's plays alongside a series of author's talks.

These special one-hour sessions focus on one of three great Shakespeare plays: Macbeth, Henry V and The Winter's Tale. Families are invited to join in with either staging and acting out the plays (in the workshops) or listening along as highlights of the plays are dramatised by Globe Education Storytellers.

On offer is also a host of author workshops from Alex Bellos, author of Football School and Tamara McFarlane of Amazing Esme, who will be on hand to help you bring your own winter circus to life. If your kids are Muppets fans, Matt Forbes, Associate Director of Puppetry & Movement for acclaimed hit War Horse will also be at The Globe to give you an introduction to puppetry based on the story of Macbeth's witches.

Using creativity and artistry, this fun-packed schedule is designed to make Shakespeare accessible to kids and foster their interest in storytelling. Click here to explore the full line-up and book now.
