Santa's Grotto and Husky Sleigh Rides, WWT London Wetland Centre

Winter magic comes to the WWT London Wetlands Centre this December, fit with Father Christmas' grotto, husky sleigh rides and donkey rides for kids

Santa's Grotto and Husky Sleigh Rides, WWT London Wetland Centre
Early this Christmas the Wetland Centre brought to me: one Santa's grotto, many huggable huskies and a collection of busy workshop elves.

The international award-winning nature reserve and visitors centre in Barnes welcomes families to a winter oasis. Come along and explore the festive pines, seek out Santa's grotto among the trees, before heading to a seasonal lunch at the scenic Water's Edge Cafe.

Forget Reindeers, it's all about the huskies this year, which visitors to the centre will find pulling the Wetland Centre's sleighs alongside donkeys decked in their festive finery which await their rides in the meadows.

Donkeys join the festivities and there will be plenty of photo opportunities for your little ones riding their donkey's through the woods. Throughout the weekend there's an elves' workshop, where children can join in with Santa's little helpers to create homemade Christmas gifts to take home.

Families can also have a go at throwing a wellie too -- with their Stonz Wellie Throwing Competition with prizes to win (which is always surprisingly popular!).

Husky and donkey rides are free with paid admission (children 8 or younger, with weight restrictions. Children must be old enough to hold on by themselves for the donkey ride).

Recommended for children aged 4-8. Tickets cannot be booked for this event.
